Nicole Buggé

Buggé Ballet
Artistic Director/Choreographer
Nicole Buggé trained at American Repertory Ballet’s Princeton Ballet School. She holds an MFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University. Nicole has performed with Richmond Ballet in such works as Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Rubies, and Serenade, Exit 12 Dance Company, Second Avenue Dance Company, Amaranth Dance, Neville Dance Theatre, mishiDance, Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre, Nolan Seda Dance, Humanistics Dance Company, The Charles Weidman Dance Foundation, Anahata Dance, and in original works by Deborah Jowitt, Cherylyn Lavagnino, and Sydney Skybetter. Internationally, Nicole also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy where she presented her choreography. She taught at the Alabama Dance Festival and is a certified Elemental Body Alignment System instructor.
As the Artistic Director for Buggé Ballet, she choreographed works for the Second Avenue Dance Company, showcased original dances at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the FAB! Festival, Fertile Ground at Greenspace, Dixon Place, Spectrum, Bryant Park, 60x60 at Brookfield Place, The Ailey Citigroup Theater, and was commissioned to create pieces performed at Lincoln Center and with One World Symphony in NYC. She is the choreographer for The Nutcracker presented annually in LaPlata, Maryland with The Studio Cooperative. Her work was exhibited by The Riverside Theatre in Harlem as part of their 2013 NuDance Festival. Nicole was selected as a winner in Rider University’s inaugural Emerging Choreographer’s Competition, has been seen on WHYY PBS Friday Arts Series in the spring of 2014, and most recently showcased work in Breaking Glass: The Emerging Female Choreographers Project. Her choreography was performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. When she’s not on stage or in the studio Nicole can be found working as the Media/Publishing Manager for Dance Magazine. www.buggeballet.com
