Limited Capacity seats available

In order to be a working dancer we are often expected to have both a strong handle on our personal preferences and the capability to adapt or take on the movement style of whomever is creating the work. Each individual dance artist must find their balance between the variety of techniques and styles and the movements and forms that best suits their body as means of building confidence and a strong sense of self in regards to their abilities. Forging an internalized collaboration by using all the training they have received in an environment that asked them to challenge their habit and contemplate the action that they enjoy physically.
The class begins with a structured warm-up based on Bartenieff Fundamentals and yoga as a means of awakening the individual’s creative energy and mind-body connection. Then a structured improved using the Gaga principle of joy of movement to think less about technique and more about master of potential and grow within their own capacity. Guided by the four elements (Body, Energy, Space and Time) of dance participants use their awareness to observe habits and limitation and use the notion of exploration and counterpoint to find new and exciting ways of moving.
Great for all levels, as all you need is awareness to see your habits and the desire to grow past them to participate in the class.
