THIS! is hip hop from its fundamental roots in African movement. Where we will explore the concepts of the "Bounce" and it's origination, the concept of "rocking" and the movement my ancestors did and how they correlate to today's movement. We will learn of the connection between our past and today in terms of movement. From the African Diaspora vocabulary to the dance forms that were conceived on the plantations such as Juba (the precursor to tap) and vernacular movement of the late 1800's through 1900's.

Growing up without the means for dance classes, McKersin started absorbing every form of dance he could find from patient friends and eventually a youth program while in High School. With Ethnic-Haitian dance already in his vocabulary, he started building a bigger arsenal with Hip-Hop, Jazz and Tap.
