Kelly Alvarez is a native of Los Angeles and has performed with companies such as PTERO Dance Theatre, Brockus Project Dance Company, Winifred R. Harris' Between Lines, and MULTIPLEX Dance. She has danced original works by Christopher Huggins, Curt Haworth, Kim Bears-Bailey, Brian Sanders, Winifred Harris, Paula Present, Rei Aoo, Deborah Brockus, Chad Michael Hall and Manfred Fischbeck. She has also appeared in commercials such as Diet Coke and in music videos for The Smashing Pumpkins and Depeche Mode. As a choreographer, her work has been selected to be presented at the Dance Under the Stars Choreography Festival, The Celebrate Dance Festival, Dancers Responding to AIDS, The GLUE Performance Series, Dance! Santa Monica, MixMatch Dance Festival, and DanceSpot LA, among others, and was recently awarded the Perple's Choice Award and Judge's Award/Grand Prize at the Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival in Ogden, Utah. She received her BFA in Modern Dance with honors from The University of the Arts and a Masters in Dance from the University of California, Irvine. Kelly has been on faculty at UC Irvine and Cypress College, and is currently an Adjunct Professor in Dance at Loyola Marymount University.
