Jessica T. Pearson is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Rhode Island College. Ms. Pearson is a dancer, educator and choreographer who danced with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Gesel Mason and Concepts In Motion, Bermuda. This sought out artist has been invited to choreograph for Urbanity Dance Company in Boston and to teach at Ballet West, numerous dance studios and taught overseas for two years. Prior to Rhode Island College, she was the inaugural recipient of the Raymond C. Morales Fellowship for the College of Fine Arts at the University of Utah in 2012. It was there she was invited to develop a course in the Ethnic Studies Department and won Utah’s Regional Ballet 2013 Choreography Design Project. Throughout her performance career, Ms. Pearson has toured the United States and Canada performing the works of Melody Ruffin Ward, Geoffery Holder, Christopher L. Huggins, Ronald K. Brown, Chester Whitmore, Rosangela Silvestre, Kevin Iega Jeff, Nejla Y. Yakin, Talley Beatty, David Parson, Mark Taylor, Troy Powell, among many others. Ms. Pearson graduated with a MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado Boulder and BFA in Dance from Towson University in Maryland. She continues her studies with attendance to the Teaching Contemporary Limon Workshop, Horton Pedagogy Workshop, Knapsack Institute and the International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference.Jessica T Pearson has been presenting work for over seven years. Her work has been presented in Bermuda, the University of Colorado Boulder, University of Utah, Utah Regional Ballet, Rhode Island College and Urbanity Dance Company in Boston, MA.
